an ungrateful encounter.
Well, its been almost a week since I've last blog. Blame it on the lazy bugs growing and infesting inside me. Anyway, friday was my wing cohesion day at West Coast Park. I was one of the organising committee members, thus have to get there by 8a.m. 2 of my other friends and I had decided to flag a cab as we're running late. While waiting by the roadside, my friend saw a blue silky kind of handphone pouch, he then made a teasing comment, "weichang, this handphone pouch must be yours right?" The clever me then asked the stupid him to use his leg to step on the pouch. Who knows we are lucky enough to find a handphone inside right?! Yes, it was a lucky day indeed. There's a Motorola E398 camera phone inside the blue pouch. *I suppose 2006 will be a good year for me*
The first sentence that came out from my mouth "I can sell this and buy my Nokia N70 already" with a smirk on my face. But after going through his contacts, messages and pictures, I realised he's a secondary school boy and must have dropped it while in a hurry. I was determined to pass this phone back to him for 3 reasons:
1) He's still a secondary school boy and we never know what's his family background is like
2) I've lost my handphone once and I know what's the panick-striken feel is like.
3) I'm born kind and shouldn't be greedy. wahhahaah!
But when I reached West Coast and the story starts spreading round my platoon, everyone have the same mission - to corrupt my mind, sell the handphone and use it as platoon fund. You know that kind of devil and angel scene above your head?
Yes! It looks something like this! In the end, I still insist to return it to that guy. So I messaged his friend and asked him to get back to me. After several sms exchanged, my friend and I decided to meet him at IKEA, as I need to get something from there. There's a price to pay if you want your handphone back.
Met him and to my surprise, he doesn't seems to be grateful nor enthu to get back his phone. He mumbled the" ant-liked" thank you and left hurriedly. I was speechless on the spot! Is this how student behave nowadays? Damn it, I should have trusted the DEVIL! Angel are devil in disguise! haha! If I were to lost my handphone in future, will the kind soul go through this kind of trouble to return back to me? Well, if that phone belongs to a working adult, i would have sell it man! It's because he still school boy, I soften to return it to him.
Lesson to be learnt:
Take whatever handphone you've found! Angels are hardly seen, or should I say grateful people seldom exist these day!
